Drawing and choosing doodles
There are three ways to make a doodle: draw it, write text, or upload an SVG file. Everything you make collects in so you can reuse it.
Drawing
- Press (shortcut D).
- Draw on the video. Releasing the mouse and pressing again starts the next stroke.
- Press at the right of the toolbar to create the doodle. To undo the last stroke, use the undo button or Ctrl+Z.
The order, direction and speed you draw in become the animation. For an arrow, draw the shaft first and the head last, and the video draws it in that order too. You can stretch or shorten the actual drawing speed later with 'Draw time', so feel free to draw slowly.
Smoothing
The slider in the toolbar irons out the small shakes of drawing with a mouse. It applies from the next stroke. Set too high, corners get rounded, so keep it low for angular drawings. The 'wobble' effect adds the hand-drawn feel back on export.
You can draw with a pen tablet connected to your computer. Apple Pencil on iPad and pens on Android tablets have experimental support. Enable to ignore finger touches on the editing canvas and reduce accidental palm strokes. Pressure isn't used yet; line width stays constant.
Text as handwritten strokes
Type a sentence into (W) and the letters are turned into single-line strokes that draw themselves as if written by hand. The lines in the preview are exactly what will be drawn.
- Handwriting picks: Nanum Pen, Gaegu, Gamja Flower, Hi Melody (free open fonts)
- My PC fonts: Chrome and Edge only. You're asked for font access the first time.
- Font file: upload a .ttf, .otf or .woff file yourself.
Whether a commercial font may be used in video depends on the font. Checking that is your responsibility. Strokes follow the letter order, not real stroke order, and within a letter they go top/left first.
Uploading SVGs
You can upload SVGs made in Illustrator, Figma, Inkscape and the like. Drawings made of strokes look the most natural. Shapes with only a fill are drawn along their outline. Paths are drawn in document order, from each line's start point to its end.

Adjusting timing
| To change | How |
|---|---|
| When it appears | Drag the middle of the doodle's timeline bar left or right, or press next to 'Start' on the right |
| Drawing speed | Drag the right end of the colored part of the bar (= 'Draw time') |
| Pause between strokes | In 'Pause between strokes', turn off and enter seconds. The darker parts of the timeline bar are the pauses |
| Constant speed | Turn off 'Drawing rhythm' |
| Make it disappear | Under 'Exit', choose Fade (gradually transparent) or Erase (erased in reverse drawing order). Drag the ends of the gray bar to set start and length |
While dragging on the timeline the value is shown above it, and it snaps to whole frames.
Refining the look (style)
To change one doodle, select it and adjust its color and width. To change all of them, edit below.
| Setting | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Wobble size / Wobbles per second | How much and how fast the lines shake. Around 8 per second feels choppy like hand-drawn animation; 24 is fast |
| Wobble loop frames | 0 = a new shape every time, 3 = cycle through three (classic animation feel) |
| Crayon gaps / Grain density | The rough texture inside the line |
| Edge roughness | How bumpy the line's edges are |
| Shadow | A faint shadow underneath so white doodles don't disappear on bright backgrounds |
